Change of Use

A “Change of Use” project is one in which a building has a specific use (established when land has been declared usable for a particular building type or development activity) is changed to another, permitted use.

Redeveloping and
Preserving History

“Change of Use” projects allow for redevelopment of an area and, often, preservation of local history. One such project Fairfield Homes’ is currently involved with is the former East School project in Lancaster, Ohio. This building, which was formerly zoned as a school, will become market-rate apartments and townhomes.

The luxury apartments planned for the former East School site will be a wonderful addition to the city’s housing stock and an asset to this near east side neighborhood. The development should bolster property values and the additional residents will support nearby retailers.
